Been hunting once with a former brother in law when I was about 21. It was peaceful just sitting in a stand saw nothing. Dad had stopped hunting shortly after vietnam from what i gathered.
Grew up poor as well. But we quail hunted a lot. As a kid, I used a bolt-action .410 from Sears. My grandnephew has it now (but doesn't hunt.) I still got my dads old Stevens SxS 12 gauge he hunted with.I've never been quail hunting. I grew up a poor. I have a pretty good shotty for it now.
Me either. Unless 12oz cans count.I’ve never been hunting in my life
Lots of quail hunting in GA.

I must confess, I don't since the stroke. My vision gets blurry & hands shaky out of nowhere all of a sudden sometimes. Wouldn't trust myself to make a clean shot. Still go sit in the stands or woods on my nephew's property though. Makes me feel closer to my dad & grandad.
This explains so much about our current situations lolMine was an electrical/software engineer climbing the corporate ladder

That's what I've been told. Sad, really. Makes me glad I grew up in farm country & swamp region. Plenty of places to hunt as long as you asked & were respectful of planted fields, livestock, etc.Only for the rich.
Yasssss. Got my partner from work into guns and hunting. Idk who was more excited when he got his first deer, me or himI have taken quite a few newbs hunting. They all still hunt. I enjoy it. The more that hunt the better this Country is. You learn more in the woods than you ever will in the city.
I got my nephew (wife's brother's son) into shooting, knives, camping, off-roading, & fishing. Never able to get him to hunt though.Yasssss. Got my partner from work into guns and hunting. Idk who was more excited when he got his first deer, me or him

Awesome! My partner has a business degree but ended up with the FD. Had a bubba SKS and a Glock 30. Talked him into a 22, then a mossberg 500, a 380, 2 ARs,,,,,and now we hunt and fish all. The.
