With all the hype and modernization of primitive arms now days. I am just curious, if I have a ice cream chance in hell to find a buyer down here. I know PA still only allows true flintlock,but I'm too far away . The term keep your powder dry is valid with this rifle.

Guess I would have to create an ad and give it a whirl also. Just never did a poll thread so I`m excited. Vote today with no voting machine hacking worries.

You really have to give away blackpowder guns around here no matter what site you're on. Maybe try to list it on PA Firearms Owners Association. You don't need to go through an FFL to ship blackpowder guns. You can ship from your address to theirs with no issues.

What is the most cost effective kit/ build method for getting a rifle capable of 400 yard accuracy with a minie ball or other projectile? Maybe something you could hit say a shingle with at 200 yards.

That I can't tell you. I'd have to ask Otis Spivey, my BP match director. I'm good for a 6 inch steel plate at 100 offhand, no way would I even waste the powder on a 400 yd shot.

He's one of our appleseeders in Macon. It would be nice to see someone hit the Daniel Morgan shot on the 200 yard range. I don't think a minie ball would be period though.

Perhaps with a little practice. How about a railroad tie plate @ 200 yards (we can't do 3moa @ 250 yards)? That will be a challenge offhand with flint in 40 cal.

I suspect the shingle shooters of old would rest their rifle some way if possible: tree, pack, fence. From my studies, I believe that the first forms of the Minie ball didn't show up until 50 years or so after the revolution was over. Simply getting a patched round ball to fly repeatedly to the same point of impact 600 feet away is impressive to me even of the rifle is held in a vise. Hats off to men who could do it on short rations with only what they could carry.

Ive only shot a flintlock once. I imagine it would take a lot of practice to get good at it. It was a unique challenge
