Thanks to @DoglegArms for his quick thinking. He immediately jumped into action and was able to suck out the poison then urinate on the wound to sterilize it. Probably saved @NWS life. He's a goddamn American hero. Except he's Asian. Goddamn Asian-American hero.

I've always thought that an OOB detonation was impossible on a 1911 but looking at the case that's the only thing that makes sense. No pressure signs on the primer. I guess it was actually probably what I though it was initially which was case head separation.
That 1911 I was shooting is a raped pig though. It has seen thousands upon thousands of rounds and it has been abused most of its life. I wish I could say this is the first time I blew it up.

I can still taste his piss. Strangest first aid I've ever received but he said he works for the government and has special training.

I have never had this happen to me (yet) but today I was shooting for the first time in a long time without eye Protection.
After I saw this I will always wear it now.
