If you are up against another armed person and you don't have "one cookin" I would bet almost everything I own that you will lose that fight.
Yep, drop your kid or rack a round...I used to carry without one in the chamber then as I am walking in the grocery store with my child in my left arm I realized I would be screwed if I were to have to draw my weapon, one in the pipe ever since then.

With that theory just use the child as a shield.I would hope that in a defensive situation, round in chamber or not, you would have the sense to throw the kid as far away from you as possible. Getting shot is much worse than a broken arm because dad chucked you 5 feet to the right.

I agree. What good is an unloaded firearm? I really don't understand why someone would carry any other way.one in the chamber, any other way is stupid.
Especially if u carry a glockAlways one in the pipe and an extra mag on standby. I've learned that with a round in the chamber, I'm far more careful, and it helps my awareness stay sharp.
