Saw this on a car forum (Dirtiest DD thread) and figured it'd be fun to see some dirty EDC's.

I'll start. Not too dirty because I just wiped it off last week but it was filthy before. It should get back to its old self in a few weeks. I think this is actually the cleanest that it has been in a while right now.

With the flash on you can really see all the crap all over it.

Mine actually stays really clean since it spends 99% of the time not in a real holster, I use a Raven Concealment Vanguard 2. Due to the style of "holster" it spends its time between cotton shorts and cotton boxers so it is constantly being wiped down. Only downside is no leather or plastic between the glock and my ball sweat.

My ball sweat adds at least 15% to the value of anything it touches.

Ok- I typed it and deleted it.... so "Insert Ex Wife Joke Here"

Off to take pictures. That thing hasn't been cleaned in a good long while, so I am expecting a crap ton of lint on it. We shall see...

It doesn't start out too bad looking (the pictures are right side up on my computer):

Then I took it out of the holster...

I will snap some pics tomorrow. But I usually blow the lint off of my edc every couple days. So it is somewhat clean

Is that the one that you had the frame cerakoted?

Haven't gotten a chance to go to the range lately to get any powder residue on mine. Going to fix that when I go on vacation next week. There's a badass outdoor range about 30 minutes off of the island that our beach house is on. Has shoot houses, a "tactical course", and a 50 yard pistol range with steel plates all over the place. I'll probably take the 229 as well, but I'll mainly shoot the LCR because I need to practice with it since I've only shot it once since I've put the XS Big Dot front sight on it.

No, that was a 19 and it is long gone. I sold it to a guy at church.

I gotcha. I was hoping that you still had it to see how the Cerakote was holding up on the frame. Oh well.

I will tell you first hand not to bother cerakoting polymer. It does not hold up well at all.

Oh, I wouldn't do it. I was just curious how it was holding up. Hell, the closest thing to a polymer gun I own is my LCR.

I had a glock done for my GF and the cerakote came off first day from taking it apart where my finger nails touched the frame around the little take down piece (whatever its called)

after that i havent had another one done but have a buddy with two cerakoted, both of which look terrible after reasonable use/holstering after just a few months...

Crazy how durable that shit is on metal but how shitty it is on plastic. I figured it would be a little better than that on plastic but I guess not.

Mine held up for the year or so that I had it, and the guy who has it now hasn't said anything about it. Honestly I was more disappointed in the NIBX on the slide than the cerakote on the frame.

Yupp, I had a couple slides done once and they held up ok. Although, its not fair because I holster my guns like 900 bajillion times more than a normal human since im aleays test fitting holsters.

I wonder if @Leshaire had the kind that was supposed to be baked on applied and they just let it air dry? I am pretty sure they have a kind that is supposed to be air dried now.

I have two glocks that the slides and barrels are NIBX coated and have held up better than the cerakote. Who did yours?
