Well this is a first. I was out to dinner with my family and felt as though my Glock 19 in its Comp-Tac Minotaur holster felt a bit funny. I went to the restroom to discover that the screw holding the forward plastic c-clip has some how come loose and the entire c-clip assembly had detached from the holster body.

Luckily the screw and bushing were still there. I had to go out my gun in my truck as a single fimsy c-clip wasn't up to keeping my gun secure.

I guess I will disassmble the holster and loctite all the screws...a bit unnerving that this would happen with an $85 rig.

Just a psa...if you've got a hyrbid holster with screws holding it together make sure they are all tight.

Wow. That sucks. Be glad something crazy didn't happen like the gun falling out in front of people or something. Loctite is cheap insurance.

Yeah it could have been a lot worse. I never gave the screws a second thought since it has been fine for over a week of daily wear. I've had other holsters similar to this and never had an issue.

I recommend to anyone to replace any clip on a holster with loops. Reason why I stopped carrying my CompTac Minatour, which is an awesome holster for an NSR Tactical C4-LLC holster - in my opinion the best holster made.

Think you could rivit it instead of the screws?

You could...but at that point you might as well build your own from parts and save some money. All it is is some leather and kydex

Yeah loctite all screws where possible. Even on holsters they are getting moved around and can work loose. Luckily I caught mine before it came completely out though.

I had the same issue with my comp tac c-tac. One of the screws worked itself loose and I lost the screw. I contacted them about it and they sent a new one and told me that the recommend the user apply loctite to all the screws. I'm not sure why they don't do it themselves...

As a former holster maker, I never used any loctite on the screws, especially on a holster that could be adjusted by the end user. I would set everything up in standard form and send it out. Who wants to get a holster and want to adjust it and strip out a screw cause its loctited in place.

A little blue loctite is pretty easy to take apart. If theyre not going to put any from the factory I wish that they would make it VERY clear that you need to apply some before use. You can't expect the average consumer to do it on their own.
