MSRP of $699.

Pass... I'm afraid that the good old days of the beautiful finishes on the Colt revolvers are gone if they do come back out with the full line of the "snake guns"

Only reason I'm excited is because of the idea of a new production Python down the line.

I wouldn't get too excited. Have you seen what kind of work Colt has been putting out lately?

I am not a big fan of Colt ARs, but I do like Revolvers.

I get that. I'm just saying that the quality that Colt was once known for is not the same quality that you get with Colt these days.

It supposedly took months to train the old workers the skills to polish the Python without burning thru the bluing.

While I think the older S&W's were better wheelguns, I've always had a soft spot for Colt's. I currently own a few.

I hope this will alleviate some of the snake gun craze so maybe the ridiculously over inflated prices on the older Colt snakes will come down some. I've wanted a 4" Python Elite since I was young. I think they were about $1100 back then. Now the cheapest I've seen is $3400. Don't get me wrong I'm in no way anticipating these new guns to be near the quality of the old classics. I just hope they're good enough for some of the Hollywood fans that are driving the prices up.

The python and Diamondbacks were great guns. The rest....meh.
The first model troopers were nice too. This one my uncle left me and it's gotta be smoothest revolver I've ever handled. This thing in unbelievably tight but everything on it moves slick like butter. I'm afraid to shoot it. 20161018_100904-1.jpg

It's been fired at least six times cause there's just the slightest powder burn around each ring of the cylinder. It's barely noticeable so I haven't attempted to clean it of in fear I'll make it worse. I just get it out when I'm feeling blue and wipe it down with an oily rag for a few minutes. Cheers me right up.
