Ive been looking at HK91 variants/clones and I've read a lot of good things about Century's C308. Obviously Century has completely done a 180 in quality control the past few years and the reviews seem to support that for this rifle and their most recent AK's.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with these rifles? I know they have used them up at Yeagers compound so maybe @dougiemac can weigh in on this. I'm tempted to pick one up at $650.

I've not shot nor handled the C308 to make any comment. Sorry bro.

But you are right that the QC at Century has taken a 180° turn.

Personally, I would hold out for a PTR91, although I have no experience w the C308. I do have a C93 that has been flawless, so I have nothing against Century. Just read too many bad things over the years. Maybe they have turned things around and are gtg?

The new C308 is built on a PTR receiver, American made Barrel, and Cetme surplus parts. So far a lot of good reviews. Wish someone had one that could give a first hand opinion.

I went down this path a year ago and decided to save and then spend the extra $200 to $300 on a PTR. CDNN has PTRs in the $800 to $850 range from time to time.

The PTR customer service is much better and they seem to put out less lemons. My interwebz research made me wary of the CAI CETMEs.

I've owned 3 century products over the years, never had a problem.
Won't comment on this particular rifle because I don't have any experience, good luck
