CCW Instructors Opposing Constitutional Carry

Once again, division and greed is weakening the 2A movement across this country as CCW Instructors are showing the opposition to Constitutional Carry. Why? Well they'll give you a litany of reasons about safety and responsibility, but what it boils down to plain and simple is greed. Charging citizens $75 to hundreds of dollars in some states, has become a very lucrative and easy business to make a good living off of. Constitutional Carry threatens that livelihood. But it appears the CCW Instructors would rather get rich than support the Constitution the way our Founding Fathers intended it to be.

Not that I am on the side of limiting our rights or freedoms of gun ownership or being able to legally own and carry a gun nor impede the ability to obtain a carry permit, I do feel that there is some need for concern about safety. In our fear driven society I have personally witnessed how first time gun buyers have been driven to purchase a weapon. Many of these people have never handled a firearm until they were in a store looking to buy something to protect them from criminals. This was clearly evident in their conversations overheard with the store employees. Not only had they not done any research prior to buying a weapon, they were looking to the store employee to help them make a responsible choice.

Not all firearms owners are the same! Most of us grew up in a household where we were taught by our parents and grandparents proper firearm operation and safety. I actually grew up under a pro firearm father and a mother who opposed. My parents were divorced when I was 7. I was allowed to handle and shoot firearms with my father. I lived with my mother (she had custody) and she did not even like toy guns. As I got older, any firearms that I had, remained at my father's house until I was old enough to legally possess them. Some people are raised in a household that did not believe in firearms. They may not have had the years of training and exposure that most of us had. Then they get out on their own or lived for year with out one and fear drove them to make a purchase. Did they have friends that took the time to take them hunting or shooting? Did they go to a range and rent a firearm and shoot them under guidance? Did they undergo any training on their own? These are the people whom I see need training prior to applying for a carry permit. Should it be required? Would you trust someone who had ablsoutely no training, simply applied for a carry permit, went to a gun store and had an employee "advise" them on a firearm, load it up and carry it without knowing where they could or when to use it? Hopefully, a responsible inexperienced person would seek out the training on their own.
