Is the s-brm the same as brm-sHarris BRM-S. That's the one that is:

-Notched leg

I like my Harris bipods, but I got rid of the one with the swivel. I only shoot off of benches and not uneven terrain, so the swivel was just a hassle for me. I could never get it tight enough for my liking- I'd say that @cmshoot 's recommendation for the knob upgrade might fix my complaint. Never tried it personally.
That sucks. One thing I have always been worried about. The reason why I try to always lay it downGet a good one. I had a cheapo on a Remington 700, and when I was downrange changing targets one of the legs retracted and the rifle fell off the bench
