Inspired by the deal on Troy mags posted earlier.

I have a Magpul Pmags and aluminum surplus mags. I've just ordered some Troy mags, but haven't used them yet.

What are the best mags, good mags, acceptable mags, and mags to avoid?

I (like everyone) like Pmags, and I've also had nothing but good luck with aluminum GI mags.

I'd have a hard time buying a brand that costs more than pmags.
Yep, me too...or even a buck or two less. I'd rather just have the best I can get if we're only talking a few bucks.

But I only have about 10 mags total. Once I find some that work well I don't tend to test out new ones unless they are given to me or really cheap

I've NEVER had an issue with PMags, and if I'm gonna trust my life and the lives of my daughters to something, it is going to be something that I have personally used and field tested.

I use PMAG Gen 2s and I've never had an issue with them. I also have aluminum D&H mags with Magpul followers that have been trouble free but I prefer plastic mags.
No experience with Troy mags.

I have bought several different poly and metal mags and have not had any issues to date with any of them!

I like GI issue mags... they are cheep, and as long as you have the newer followers you should be just fine.
