Best .223/5.56 Home Defense Ammo?

I recently switched from just a Glock to having a small AR pistol be on nightstand duty. However I wasn't sure what the best home defense ammo would be to run in it. I'm a big fan of Hornaday TAP but I'm open to any suggestions. I'm concerned about inadequate fragmentation and over penetration.

Specs:
Rock River LAR-15 pistol with a 7" barrel with a 1:9 twist rate.

The TAP ammo is a good choice if you are not too concerned about penetration. Also, above 65 grains the short barrel with a 1/9 twist rate may not stabilize the bullet very well.
