I did some reading up on the differences between the 2. Eley has a great write up on both that was well worth the read.
Beeswax or Paraffin
Beeswax is made by bees surprisingly and has a yellow tint that is a softer, thicker and stickier lubricant than paraffin is. That being said it makes a more accurate round since it reduces the effects of chambering a round.
Due to the sticky thickness of beeswax, it will pick up more lint and debris. As a result it will build up in the chamber quicker so you should have a cleaning regiment in place to compensate for that.
Cleaner Gun = Better Shot
Now paraffin wax is a clearer thinner lubricant and is harder than beeswax with a higher melting point. This gives it a drier feel and is less prone to picking up debris.
Thanks to its harder texture, paraffin wax is more suited to semi-auto firearms as it doesn’t clog as bad.
Hope that helps ...
