Aim Surplus Got Hacked I got a Letter today about my account

Got a Letter today from Aim Surplus about them getting hacked.
They got my DL info and my C&R info, According the Aim that is all that was Breached.
If you have an account with them make sure you look at your credit file every now and again.

Well, shit. I've ordered tons of crap from them- but most of it went to my FFL. No letter here yet.


I really hope that you don't end up dealing with crap from this breech.

The only thing I ordered from them was on my old Debit card... Dosent mean shit can't happen, but since it was my old card, I should be good to go...

1. Be pissed off at the Hackers who are a problem.

or

2. Be pissed off at Aim for not securing there servers better in an age where hackers are prevalent.

With everything electronic now hacking is a fact. It's up to businesses to protect against it just like it was up to banks to protect against robbery when actual money existed.

I got that same letter in the mail yesterday. My credit has been frozen since the state of Georgia put all that information on every registered republican out into the world last year. At least AIM got hacked. The state of Georgia published the same information and more.

Thing is though AIM promises to keep your information private while Equifax promises to sell it to anyone with money (well i guess someone go it for free that one time
