That's a very rational thought, my only problem with that is, in a world where practice and training are everything, the last thing you want to depend on is "probably". Muscle memory is everything in high stress situations, which is exactly what such an altercation would present.

Thats one thing I find very unique about my wife, She only likes to shoot .22's at the range, yet she keeps my Taurus Judge on her night stand. She has shot this gun and hates it but she said if there is an intruder she won't feel the kick anyways. Same as a trigger pull.

Hating a gun because of recoil is of little concern when it comes to protecting oneself, but hating one due to poor results is competition different, in which case I'd say, for both your sake, put the judge away.

I have large hands also. I like the Walter PPS 9 mm and the Beretta nano works fine for me to.
