I scored 9 boxes of 7.62 by 39 at Walmart tonight.
I got my three boxes paid for them an went over to see my wife in the grocery section. I took her back over and there was another person so me and her each got 3 boxes. No I don't feel guilty about cheating.

I paid 5.17 a box today.
BeFor the shortage it was 4.97 a box.
That's only 10 cents a box more when you can get it.

I found some Tula 7.62 at a Walmart in Centennial Colorado last week but their limit was 3 boxes and not of the same type. First I've seen that. Thankfully they had some brassmaxx 40 and privi so I didn't leave empty handed.

I scored one more box at 7.62 X 39. They only had one box and the box was all tore up he dumped them in the bag.
Picked up two boxes of federal 45 ACP at the same time for 21.49 a box.

If you can find any 7.62x39 soft point ammo, BUY IT! It looks like a FMJ round with a lead tip on the bullet. Besides being a great defensive round, it is a lot of fun to shoot! Liquid filled and capped containers, (milk jugs, gaterade bottles, etc.) will blow up and fly off the ground when hit! Den

Reading this thread just makes me want my AK that much more. Stopped at another GS today no AK's in stock. Time to go to the fin so I can start buying some of these rounds.

I was dealing on two of them. One turned out to be a liar. The other guy is over 2 hours away and at this point does not seem willing to meet half way. I will keep you posted.

Both of my Mini 14 deals fell through, which is probably a good thing.

For what it's worth and what it cost you, Gander Mountain shows a Saiga 5.45 x 39 on their website for $450. They come in other calibers too but they don't show them. They are shipped as a sporter for legal reasons and then you can convert them. They make a darn nice gun and you can spend a little or a lot making them into whatever you want.
