7.5" Upper Question

I have a 10.5 sbr and wanted to try a 7.5 especially when my can gets out of jail. I have read that shorter than 10.5 and issues of reliability creep in.

What would I need to do to insure reliability if at all possible?

Just try it and see. Semi auto is much easier to run than full auto.

Which can? You may void the warranty with a 7.5. As far as reliability, just take different buffers and test it out and play with it.

They are only rated down to like 10.5 inches. I looked heavily at one to do a 7.5 upper as it would be a sweet, short rifle and decided no as it would void the warranty.

I do not believe it is rated to 7.5. It would probably be OK but you're not going to get much suppression on 7.5.

7.5" is not a good length for 5.56 IMO, but...

I just ordered a really cheap 7.5" 5.56 barrel today for shits and giggles. Might use it with my 22 conversion kit for the laughs. It was way cheaper than a 7.5" 22LR barrel so what the hell right?

Plus, it's great to carry to the range in case a squad of super-douche canoes decides to grab the lane next to me for their own "gangsta photo shoot."
