Too bad they're blanks...

Aerial .50 cal's ROF was about twice that of the ground-pounder version.

Nice post Art!

Not trying to sound like a jerk but, the .50 cal HBMG ( heavy barrel machine gun) only has about 5 clicks in it timing, that allows it to fire... But if the guy setting up the gun put it on the first "click" that allowed the gun to fire, to would fire just a little faster... If he put it on the bottom click it would fire slower... But... When you hear all 6 guns going at the same time... pure porno gun sex.

The .50 M2 is a great gun, but you have to know all about the head space and timing, or you will run into problems... And back in the the day they would pour 30 weight motor oil on the guns, that is why in the WWII films you see the .50's smoke so much when they fired..

Once again Tommy, I'm not trying to be a jerk but, other than the setting on the timing nut on the trigger bar of the M2, any M2, that it controlled the rate of fire. And BTW when I was teaching, I didnt see ONE M2 made after 1970...

I dont want to come across as "that guy" who knows everything... Its just that I have spent a lot time w/ the M2, and a lot of people see it as complicated weapon... b/c of the head space and timing... But none the less its been around since the 1930's I think...

There was also an aerial version of the Browning .30cal mg with a faster ROF.

http://browningmgs.com/AirGunnery/01_50cal.htm

And who's arguing? I love this stuff!

Wow... The aerial version was a lot diffrent, the gun did not have a barrel extension, in the receiver. From the pictures it looked like the barrel was fixed into the receiver.

Thanks for the link!
