I found one box, one 50rd box of 22LR at a hardware store. Walmart is out of stock, so are many other stores. New 10-22 takedown and I'm out of ammo. Anybody know of any sources in the Dallas/FW area?

What would you guys advise for a scope for this rifle?

Tex, I checked all my usual Internet haunts for .22lr and all are out-of-stock. It is amazing that the little ole .22 may now be on the endangered species list.

I have a 10-22 Sporter, but I believe the TD version is the same scope wise. I mounted a Nikon ProStaff Rimfire 3-9X40mm on mine and it is perfect. The optics are crystal clear and since it's made specifically for rimfire rifles it is light and calibrated for the .22lr, yet built like a tank. The ProStaff is a fine quality scope.

I purchased mine here and more good info...NFI:

22.cal sold out in my area, except for a few places where the price is more than 9mm used to be.

I like my Leupold scope pretty good. It's about $220 and the Burris mount, Zee Rings, and the rail, add more. I wish I knew more about glass and you're limited with the TD cause you want it to fit the bag. Another is the Bug Buster at about $80. I think it comes with an aluminum mounting system and you can use your factory rail. I mention it's aluminun 'cause I hear it strips and there may be issues with the adjustments too. The Leo is good to go, but it's 30 beans by the time it's on. The BB is a slick hit or miss at the 8 bean ouch. ymmv, of course. 8)

Thanks for the advise guys. I'm going with quick release rings so i can remove the scope and still use the bag. I've always liked Nikon scopes. The Leupold looks mighty nice too.
