The only plates that will fit the carrier though are the protech. So ar500 plates are a moot point as well. ;) On a side note how is the Army treating you nowadays brother?

I like steel plates in that they stop bullets fairly well. I just don't like the idea of splatter. I may just get the plates down the road a little at a time. The pico pro plates are extremely light at around 3 pounds. I don't know though. We will see.

Yeah I was just trying to be polite and pretend like I was interested in longer hand guards. To be honest I like the weapon the way it is. I considered the hand guards but I think they are a bit retarded. I don't use that portion of my rifle to put my hand on anyways. No offense to you guys but...
