Thoughts on a potential 10/22 purchase

I can only say that because she bought a new purse last week 'on sale' for $120. it makes me sick to think how much ammo I could have bought for the same thing she spent on a purse!!! Sony Tablet S using Tapatalk 2

Thoughts on a potential 10/22 purchase

Well Rich...i have plenty of rounds in the safe. The problem is I decided to offset the urge to fire this 10/22 by buying a new 10/22. Realistically I will probably end up shooting both but it sounded like good logic when I bought it. I pick up the new 10/22 tomorrow and the 66 finger groove...

Thoughts on a potential 10/22 purchase

I called him tonight and told him I would pick it up on Monday. I'll take pics and post when I get it. BDD is right though...now I have to fight the urge to shoot it as soon as I get it home ;D Sony Tablet S using Tapatalk 2

Thoughts on a potential 10/22 purchase

Rich...it is a standard 18.5 inch blue barrel with a walnut monte carlo stock. It has the finger grooves that run the length of the stock/fore end. I dont have a pic of the gun but I am looking online to see if anyone has a stock photo (everything so far are pics people took to sell their...

Thoughts on a potential 10/22 purchase

I was at my local gunsmith today and we were talking about 10/22's. I mentioned I was looking for an older 10/22 and he pulls out a 1966 finger groove sporter that looked like it had never been fired. He bought it from the estate sale of a former customer and said it probably never left the...

Tumblers - What is the advantage?

I finally decided to get a tumbler last week. I had been cleaning brass using a salt/vinegar/dish soap solution...and it worked well but took a lot of rinsing then a while to dry. First batch in the tumbler (about 350 rounds) and two hours later they were ready to go. I threw another batch...

I think this is going to be a popular room

+1 on the CM9. I used to carry my SR9c as my edc but several months ago I picked up a cm9 at a local show. In the summer months the cm9 is now my primary (iwb) with elsie riding along in my front pocket or cross draw. CM9 has a very smooth trigger pull and very accurate for such a short barrel.

    Powder question

Thanks Skip. I have been reading through your reload info and taking notes as I go. Lots of good stuff there. Thanks for taking the time to put that info together...big help to those of us just starting to reload!!!

    Powder question

Curious to know how you like the rcbs if you decide to go that route. I debated using it since I could get an exact measure each time instead of picking the closest disk. In the end I went with what I could afford to get started and still might upgrade a bit later.

    Powder question

Thanks Rich...first batch I made (50) I weighed each one. I know it slows the process down (using a turret press) but I am going for safety over speed so it really didn't bother me stopping each time. I started a log to track bullet, disk used, oal, powder type, load etc. Guessing if I use...

    Powder question

I just started reloading this month. I am using the Lee Pro Auto Disk. It meters fairly consistent (+/- .1 gr) using Unique, but I find using the suggested disk doesn't get me close to the recommended charge (for example for a 124gr 9mm starting load of 4.5gr it says to use disk .47 but I am...
