    Talk some sense into me

I love the Garands because of the heritage and history. And the ping. Can't forget the ping. Big bore lever gun - my shoulder just called me and said "no". Raid the baby's college fund and get both!

PTAC, PSA freedom, and PSA- whats the difference?

I would definitely go cheap on the upper and definitely shoot steel case ammo. But I'm cheap like that. The cost of the upper compared to the registered MG is miniscule. The rest is cost of operation, which can add up quickly if you do a lot of shooting.

    Final panic buy

Actually pretty decent. You can't order the Field Grades any more and they had a dozen or more to choose from. I got a June 1941 Springfield (pre-war, yay!). The wood is rough but the '49 barrel reads a ME of 2 and TE of 4. They had drill rifles there. National Match rifles. The funny ones...

    Gun smithing tools

A nice bit set so you have the right size for each screw/etc. Not recommending this one - I just snagged a pic off of H-D's website. A nice set of files and fine sand paper if you plan on any trigger work. Assuming you already have a nice, well-lit workbench. Jeweler loupes help with...

    Optic for .22

I took my FVSR and Dobbs Evercore to Charlie Elliott a few weeks ago and started shooting with CCI std vel ammo. Nice grouping. I switched to Aguila std vel and the groups got even tighter. The Aguila made a noticeable difference in better groupings than the CCI. I know every gun is...

Anyone going to the Guns of August match?

I REALLY want to go! Not sure if I will but I gotta get comfortable with the rifles I would take. I'm such a slacker... It starts early so I would have to get up REALLY early but it sounds like a LOT of fun!

    Low end AR brand poll

I'll echo Willy's statement. I have had a couple of SOTA's uppers and they are fine. Not a super operator and don't shoot ARs that much so by no means an authority or expert but they seem to run fine.

    Bad News For Taurus

Yeah, haterz gonna hate. My Taurus 1911 is a shooter, too. Wait, you SOLD the 92? J/K Best thing about a network, you don't have to advertise what you sell.

    Kahr PM9 vs CM9...

Will keep my eye out. Cool holsters! Sounds like you would need to get used to popping it out of the kydex so the whole thing doesn't come out. Glad your boss took care of you yesterday!

Anybody looking for a $1,700-$4,800 revolver?

You got it, we do need to get together. Most of October is booked already with festivals but maybe, like you said, next month!

Anybody looking for a $1,700-$4,800 revolver?

Yeah, I kinda went sideways with my response. No threaded Nagants from the factory that I know of but far from an expert. Crazy rounds those things shoot. Like it was cold when they were loaded at the factory or something.

Anybody looking for a $1,700-$4,800 revolver?

Wow, looks like over-priced S&W model 586's...styling-wise almost a direct copy. If you're going to copy a sexy revolver copy the Python with the vented rib. And the rails on the barrel? :der: You can suppress a Nagant pistol because part of the action is the cylinder is forced up against...

    600 yd optics

Unfortunately I don't think this Redfield is good enough for you and neither is me behind a Swiss K31. But it sure is fun! The high and the low shots were from getting the range. I never got the scope dialed in but was using the stadia lines for hold-over after a zero at 100 yards. This...
