I think it was stamped but I honestly don't remember. (Didn't fondle it)

I just remember chrome bolt, no bayonet lug or threaded barrel.

Also make sure its a square cut receiver... If it is, offer him $700 bucks, your out the door price.

I think I paid $650 for my Sporter about 2 years ago. Square cut, in pretty good shape. I felt like I got a pretty good deal at the time based on what I was seeing them at. They seem to hover right round $700
