I've been mulling buying a cheapo Romanian (or other) Tokarev. Something about the design and the feel of a steel pistol.

I've shot them, but never owned one. Thoughts on make? Any years to avoid?

Thanks.

I've had several tt-33's over the years. Neat pistol, fun to shoot...very 1911ish. I ultimately got rid of them because I knew that they would never really appreciate in value and the sights really are somewhat....well....russian. The 7.62x25 round is a pocket rocket for sure, though.

He can buy whatever he wants after the sailing trip! Lol and after the purchase of a XL sailboat!
Too bad he couldn't have some guns on the boat. I'll bet he'd really be on board the sailboat idea then.

He's on board to buy a XL saulboat but I have a larger budget then he feels comfortable with spending ( he probably thinks I'm gonna take his gun and bike money away) lol he's in 20 range im now in 50 range Big price difference

I'm sure he's lying in bed at night thinking of all the fun toys he could have with that $30k difference lol. Shit he'd probably be down with getting a canoe. :D

U have met me. I'm a very persuasive person. I will admit I do get my way 99% time. But I do surprise him a lot with high ticket guns bikes so it's a give and take

I've had more than a few Toks.
From my experience, in preferred order:
1. Russian
2. Romanian
3. Polish
Reliability was excellent with all 3.
I always used imported ammo (Romanian and Czech ammo being hottest)
Velocity is high, about equal to Underwood .357sig from an extended barrel Glock 31.
Penetration is excellent.
Ammo is still somewhat cheap in bulk.
Fun to have.
