Shooting on federal land

I can't remember which forum I read this but some guy said he world go target shooting in the Oconee National Forest. Rangers had no issue with it. It wasn't a designated range. He'd shoot under the power lines. Anyone know if this true/legit?

If it is Federal Property or if it falls under the jurisdiction of the Army Corp of Engineers......then I would call BS.....and regardless.....get caught.....go to jail.

Generally speaking you're right. But most larger posts are open to hunting (slug guns) and even fort Gordon has a public range. I believe it goes out to 800yds.

Concealed carry is a no go though.
