I think I qualify as the resident SET Brit car expert (4 Jags, 3 Rovers, 1 Lotus)

So, with that established, those old V-12's aren't worth owning if you aren't mechanically inclined. I don't mean 'can follow internet instructions' mechanically inclined. You need to be able to trace and diagnose issues without the interwebs, and use the net for confirmation.
If that's your case, fucking go for it. V-12's are cool as fuck and those old cars are straight sexy.

I had a MGB in high school.

That actually looks really good!

Thanks. It took me a while to get my technique down on how to apply this. I have been doing safety red and white dots for a while and only been doing AK rear sight ladders for a few years. That brand of nail polish works very well . I have tried cheaper and more expensive ones but I like this brand and the exact type. I have these in white, red orange and yellow.

The East Germans actually used an orange type on their AK ladders---------

"Russian 1000m AKM Sight, DDR “Red Letter” 800m Sight used until about 1966, DDR “White Letter” 800m, Sight used on all NVA MPi-KM/KMS-72 after 1968, DDR 1000m “K” Sight used on DDR MPi-AK-74N as well as some exports and prototype "

My brother got a boat that way. A ‘friend’ of his gave it to him because he couldn’t afford the dock fees anymore. I think it was a 1970’s wooden 60’ sailboat. Erich spent a bunch of time replacing the pitch and rope seals between the boards, refinishing the interior, rebuilding the engine...only to find out the frame had dry-rot. Would’ve required being dry-docked for extensive and very expensive surgery.
He had to walk away from it.
Turned out his buddy already knew, and so did most of the other folks on the dock, he couldn’t even have sold it to another sucker.
Highly doubt my uncle would do me like this...
