PRO: Rids you of stupid "braces"

CON: Can't cross state lines without ATF document approval

I think the biggest con is the state line issues. Other than that I plan on doing at least one.

I never shoot my SBRs unsuppressed and my one SBR I can't suppress I never shoot period.

Never cross state line with a gun anyway so doesn't bother me about that. I always take my boomerang.

Got a 10.5" AR pistol... with a flaming pig on the end. It's bearable with ear muffs (not doubling up on ear pro). My latest plan is to get the Grunt M from @DoglegArms and permanently pin/weld it to my upper. Provided it's over the 16" length requirement, it's going to be my single stamp AR.

If it's an inch short, I'll just get another barrel. Probably one of those barrels @DarthVader speaks highly of- I haven't met the guy, but I'm pretty sure he knows his shit!

I think the M is 5" and the Grunt is 6.25" that Exo looks cool but would prolly just be covered with the rail in your build.

I appreciate the advice- and like I said- never met the guy, but I can find nothing wrong with what he says. I'm in no hurry to get this build done, so waiting on a new barrel won't matter. I've got a Specwar 5.56 and no real need to hurry up the "short" build. The current 16" carbine does everything I want it to do- aside from bein shorter and more quiet.

It's 5" in length (I still haven't received it. I"ll call them Monday). If you pin the can do you know how you are going to clean the barrel?

Just pee in the barrel that's what I do.

Remember that a barrel is measured to the muzzle when it comes to length, not the shoulder the can would butt against.

A 10.5 is 10" at the shoulder of the threads, would need a 6" can to make it a 1 stamp can.

couldn't you always weld a 1/2" piece of metal to the end of the can?

I don't think my 12.5 is 16" with the can attached.

Here I go with a half baked plan and someone has to come along and ruin it I guess this one is going to need some more thought- I haven't measured the 10.5 from the bolt face yet. If I'm remembering correctly, the NFA barrel length is measured by inserting a rod against the closed bolt to the end of any permanently attached parts.
