Need a little help. I’ve got about 24 steel targets that I want to strip down to clean steel. They have years of paint on the front and many have rust on the back.

My angle grinder ain’t got the ass to do it, I need a larger one, like a 9”.

Sandblasting seems like it would do the trick, but that’s not something I have access to.

I don’t want to clean them chemically as I don’t have a good place to do that.

So, I’m either looking to borrow a 9” angle grinder, or find someone that’s willing to clean them all up for me. I’m willing to pay or trade for the loaner, or the labor.

Semper Fi!

We used to use James Carr Sandblasting in Cartersville. He does awesome work and at a reasonable price.

I have access to a sand blaster (pretty sure I do anyways). I will double check at work tomorrow.

Here is a 20k and I know it will take the paint off. I can rent you one of these if you want to try it out. It is a beast to run. Screenshot_20171009-210228.png

You will need a very large volume of water to run it though. Like a fire hydrant

Meant 2,400psi.

I’ve got a guy who said he’d sandblast them in return for a slot in my shoot in November.

Hell yeah, well there you go. Can't beat that. :thumb:

Check harbor freight, they have deals on sand blast cabinets and media that would keep your investment under a couple hundred...I think. Don't quote me on the price..but worth looking at if you will need it more than one time.

I'd find a local steel fabricator- a business that does industrial maintenance might also work well.

I would expect that they could blast and shop prime 24 pieces of reasonable sized steel in an hour or two max. Shouldn't be terribly expensive.
