I did some swapping with @Green Panther this afternoon and came home with a Glock 22 and a Tactical Solutions TSG-22 22 caliber conversion kit. The barrel on the TSG-22 is threaded 1/2x28 so when I saw it, I had to have it.

Anyway, it seems finicky as fuck. I am getting a bunch of FTF and FTE and I was hoping someone on here might have had experience on what it takes to get these things to run well, I do believe if I can get it to cycle reliably, this will replace my GSG-1911 as my new favorite host.

I had the best luck with CCI mini mags of course but even they FTF or FTE about 80% of the time. Federal red box FTE every shot.

I am going to strip it down and give it a good cleaning and try again tomorrow. Any thoughts?

Oh, and by the way. This thread is in no way a bash against @Green Panther. I understand that these things can be finicky and I am happy as a pig in poop with the trade, so please don't anybody even suggest that everything wasn't on the up and up. I don't think that at all. @Green Panther is as good as the come in my book.

I read somewhere the 36gr and 40gr round nose were better for the conversion and you'd think the copper plated would help it. Looks cool hope the cleaning works.

I have always heard that for Glock 22lr conversions: advantage arms or gtfo.

I dont know what lube you use, but froglube grease seemed to be too thick for my GSG. It seemed to prefer a thinner oil

I only use CLP. I just cleaned it real good, lubed it up and went out and shot 10 rounds through it. It ran much better. Still only 8 out of 10 cycled properly, but it is getting better. It feels pretty stiff, I am betting it just needs a good break in. I'll try to get a couple hundred through it in the next week or so.

I did find that what I thought was CCI mini mags were actually remington golden bullets that someone had put in a CCI sleeve. I dug out some actually CCI mini mags and found it works MUCH better.

I contacted Tactical Solutions to see if they had any suggestions. They told me they would send some parts and asked for a picture of the underside of the slide so they would know which ones to send.

I sent them a picture and they responded with a RMA number and UPS call tag. They told me mine was really old and outdated and to send it to them on their dime. They are going to upgrade it to the current model. No charge.

The only bad thing about that kind of customer service is that they will probably get a crap ton more of your money.

Got it back from tactical solutions today. The completely rebuilt the whole thing. It is running 100% on any ammo I run through it. I did swap out the Gen 3 Glock 22 frame for a Gen 2 Glock 17 frame instead. Woop! I am a happy man, and high recommend Tactical Solutions to anyone. Amazing customer service, heck they paid shipping both ways.

Now to trade off the old GSG-1911
