Looking at the pictures I have to agree with most here - dont do it, it could be a reweld and that barrel is wore out.
Barrels can be replaced Fairly easy (I can do it).
I would have to see it first hand to see what that rifle is really worth and it is a late war rifle Sept 1944 (not an issue if it is).
Repark is usually done to rifles rebuilt in the 60's, but when you take the receiver out of the wood and see if there is Eltropencel on the side of the tabs that go into the wood it would have the year done eltropenceled there.
but if not a reweld and original barrel still could be worth around $500.00 but that would be a conservative value until seen.
