How important do you think it is? I could save a ton of money using a standard assembled upper receiver.
The mp5 has survived for 50+ years without a last round bolt hold open
Buy once cry once peasant.
I've been wanting a 9mm carbine forever. Been torn between building one or buying a six mpx. Having a 10mm upper isn't something I've thought about though, that would be nice.Yea I'm looking at the side charging LRBHO made by NFArmory that are sold under different brands.
The other option is the cmmg guard for about $1000, but I think i can come under $1k with a side charging set up if I put it together myself. And if I build my own I can build a 10mm upper for it as well
Idk if I would pull the trigger on a blowback 10mm
Haha true. I forgot about that thingMeh ruger made a 44magnum blowback rifle right?

The mpx. I shot a guys at the range with my can, no comparison to the scorpion. What's gassy? 10mm carbine or mpx?

It's chunky for a 9mm carbine, but shoots well and suppresses great. I do wish it were a bit smaller dimension wise.I haven't shot the Sig or the scorpion but I've fondled them both. There's Something about the scorpion I just don't like. I'll probably just build a AR9 next. Gotta finish my SET build first though.
Yeah it's almost has a bullpup feel to it but it's not a bullpup its Just awkward. Running a suppressed isn't a issue for me because I'll probably never buy a can anyway, not until wait times are under a month anyway, I'm too impatient for that shit. It's chunky for a 9mm carbine, but shoots well and suppresses great. If you cared enough to spend the electrons starting a thread, get the variant with last round bolt hold open. If you don't it'll be a sliver in your brain that will fester into you eventually not being satisfied with it.So heres the math
45acp glock mag rifle w/ side charger and LRBHO- $936 before shipping
45acp glock mag rifle w/ standard upper no LRBHO- $771 before shipping
45acp Glock mag rifle w/ standard upper w/ LRBHO- $851 before shipping
CMMG Guard 45 rifle - $1009.99 before shipping
And these prices are before choosing a stock, optic, or anything attached to a rail
I think you're right, now is the side charging upper worth the extra cost or not or do I judt nut up and get the delayed action of the CMMG GuardIf you cared enough to spend the electrons starting a thread, get the variant with last round bolt hold open. If you don't it'll be a sliver in your brain that will fester into you eventually not being satisfied with it.
