In wake of the nut job who shot up a Federal Building after 2am in Austin, the Police Chief of Austin is advocating that people should rat out gun owners.
There's a fine line between an idealist who is also a gun enthusiast and a violent radical extremist nut job who has made threats. If I had a neighbor that was literally insane, making threats and I saw him loading up his truck with his guns, sure...I take pause to inform authorities. However what the Police Chief is advocating is ratting out any and all, not just those that intend to do harm to innocents. That would mean the majority of us good people on the OON would have to be vetted. Do they vet people who own a lot of cars and has a wine cellar or perhaps buys cases of beer and alcohol? No.
Yet again, liberal, knee jerk reactions. 270 million guns in America, 90% of all American households own at least one...yet when one single individual commits a crime with one, let's register them, confiscate them, ban them, etc., etc. Event by event, we are watching the erosion of our Constitution and our Civil Rights.
