If it's anything like tumbling brass, the drum (rotating) style are 100 times quieter than the dang vibrating bowl type tumblers. I've got an old Lyman bowl tumbler and you can't hear people talk when it's running and full. The Dillon is better, but not nearly as quiet as Dad's rotary drum tumbler.

Yes, you cannot use the stainless pin media in bowl tumblers.
