This information is based on my personal experience of obtaining a Florida Non-resident Concealed Carry License.
  • I downloaded all of the applications and had everything filled out.
  • I had to show that I had at least 16 hours of firearms training to demonstrate competency with a firearm.
  • I traveled down to Sarasota (Siesta Key) for a long weekend and made it a productive holiday by making an appt. with the Sheriff's office and getting finger printed, and submitting my application. It took about an hour to do everything and cost me a little over $100 all said and done with finger print fees and license fee.
  • It took about 6 weeks for it to arrive in the mail.
You can do it via mail if you don't want to travel to Florida... below is the instructions on how to do so.

Requirements
  • You must be 21 years of age or older.
  • You must be able to demonstrate competency with a firearm.
  • Unless you are serving overseas in the United States Armed Forces, you must currently reside in the United States (U.S.) AND be a U.S. citizen or deemed a lawful permanent resident alien by Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). If you are serving overseas in the U.S. Armed Forces, submit a copy of your deployment documentation with your application. Those who are 'Resident Aliens' must provide a valid Permanent Resident Alien card.
