My SR40c loves this round, I took somebody's advice who recommended that I test fire my PD ammo, so when I need it it'll work as advertised. So far the "HST" has been great and accurate, recoil is very manageable, I'm really pleased. What else is out there for quality PD?

My only 2 ammo choices for Self Defense. Glad you like the HST...a great choice. Yogi 8)

Yogi likes the Gold Dots! I do too (in my LCP). However, I haven't been able to find them lately locally, so I've been using Critical Defense and Hydra-Shoks for SD. They are good too, but like you, I really prefer the Speer products.

Sixtiesstill - I think any premium SD ammo from a major manufacturer, i.e., Federal, Speer, Hornady, Remington, Winchester, etc., will work well for you in SD applications. God forbid you ever have to pull the trigger in a SD situation, but if you do, I don't think the bad guy will notice the difference. If it feeds well and is accurate, IMHO that's what's important. :)

Sarge, I don't disagree on using quality products, I'm always looking for that edge, you know what "Stops The Threat" in the least amount of time. The average I think for the .40 is something like 2.49 rounds, where as the 9mm is 2.79 rounds. My goal is 1 or 2, save the rest for any other takers..!
