I had a hi-point carbine for awhile and it shot really well. But the cutout on the left side of the sheet metal receiver cover made it a no go for me- basically a direct gas channel into my nose from the chamber.

It shot fine. It would basically hit where I aimed. But not being able to breathe after a few shots kind of limited it's use.

A buddy of mine just bought one of those carbines. It actually shoots well, I shot the thing. He bought the mags too. The dude is Russian, and the more crude and home built a gun looks the more he loves it.
