Barrel taper?

.936 bull barrel build, threads are actually 5/8x24 because I wanted as much meat on that barrel as possible. 762 specwar because I didn't want to plunk the cash for a WAR adjustable upper for running a 556 can. Barrel is a 20" dpms

Now I need a nicer trigger than milspec

As far as the trigger, I can't tell you which one to get, but I will always support someone getting a flat faced trigger. I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with them.

What scope are you using?

I built the whole gun around the p223 scope, hence the 20" 1/9 barrel as the scope is calibrated for hornady 55gr on a 20" barrel. The idea is that I can put it in anyone's hands and they can make some decent long distance shots without burning up my match grade 308.

And yep a Luth AR stock. I like the look but the magpul PRS stock is objectively better IMO.

Congrats ! That's heavy duty right there. Looks like a very stable prone or bench gun. You built it around the scope that's a good idea is the reticle 600 BDC. I want to look at Vortex Diamondback Tactical next time I'm in the store. I see with my hands. Have you had a chance to zero yet. Good job.

Yup it's the 600 reticle, which is only nice if you have a 20" barrel, which was so dumb for them to use, should have been calibrated for a 16".

We actually host public range days where everyone can meet officers and sheriff, I avoid those like the devil.

100 yards with Winchester 55gr super X with five five-round groups lead to an average of 1 MOA, worse was 1.5 MOA, best was within 1/2 in radious from edge of farthest bullet edge to the other farthest.

My guess is with a better trigger and less head mirage its just under 1 MOA

So the scope only is good if you're using 20" barrel then yeah that makes no sense I would think more people shoot with that $ range are using a 16".

Good lawd that's sum numbers to be proud of. Impressive to say the least. Maybe even softer springs like JP would get you closer. Hate to change much since you're shooting that well already with it. That's a factory dpms barrel with rifle gas. Are you using rifle buffer.
