Hey guys new to the forum have a question I have a maadi I inherited I believe it is post ban . It has no flash hider or brake the end of the barrel has been turned down to approx 1/2 inch dis you can still see traces of old treads in the barrel I am wondering about threading it 1/2 x 28 and using an ar flash hider probably have to drill it to 30 cal any thoughts thanks moose

Hey @mooosie! Welcome to the site. We're still in the soft launch and there's a lot of things in the works prior to the Grand Opening Launch! Please stick around and become a fixture.

As for using an AR flash hider, I'm curious why would you want to? It seems like a lot of extra work to make an AR flash hider work for an AK. I personally like the look of many of the AK flash hiders and the performance of some of them like the 4 piece Bulgarian muzzle is phenomenal! I would get it threaded and look into an AK flash hider. If budget is an issue, there are plenty of flash hiders for under $50.

Great question. Anyone else got a response?

Thanks for the reply I assumed since the barrel speared to be turned down that it would be too small for an ak flashhider I would much rather put an original back on

I haven't looked into the cost of having a barrel turned, I've been thinking of having my Rock River Arms 7.5" pistol AR barrel turned to reduce weight. However looking at the cost of a lightweight barrel (about $200), having one turned maybe much costlier.

Let us know what you find out.
