I had never heard of this custom caliber until today when I stumbled across Soocth00's video on the 460 Rowland. Although ammo maybe a little more difficult to find at a brick and mortar store and you may have to buy your ammo online (which I typically do anyway), the coolest feature about the 460 Rowland conversion is you can shoot both 45 acp and the 460 Rowland through the 460 Rowland conversion. Additionally, when shooting the 460 Rowland you get the power of a 44 magnum in your hand for just under $300.
Ballistics comparison:
44 Mag: 1100 ft lbs
460 Rowland: 1000 ft lbs
10mm: 750 ft lbs
45 acp: 414 ft lbs
I'm not sure I would've had the balls to convert a Colt 70's series 1911, but I'd definitely put one on a Glock 21.
