After shooting corrosive 54R I feel the need to hose it out. Otherwise about 1 cleaning a year for any other center fire can.

Low heat, just keep It in there long enough to become hot enough for the use of an oven mitt.

As for my rifle cans, well I'll hose them out, spray them with oil, and then heat them in the oven to help oil penetrate and burn off some of the excess buildup.

Silicone treatment works amazing to protect it from buildup sticking to early. That said, tumbling in pin media is the King of can cleaning IMO.
