    East (and West) Coast prayers

I've been thinking about a generator too. We have no natural gas lines where I live. We are on a well and everything is electric. I think lots of people think about supplies they need and see lots about a bug out bag, etc. I think lots of people don't plan enough for water and food. So I'm...

    East (and West) Coast prayers

Skip, How does flooding affect the generators? As I understand it, they work from gas lines. I assume there may be more problems with a continuous gas supply with major flooding, but not sure. And of course if your generator floods, that is a major problem that may make it useless.

    East (and West) Coast prayers

Wish them all well. I also think a lot of blue states are about to learn a little lesson is self reliance. They are going to learn that the government can't take care of them all at once.

    New XDs for Me!

Mostly agre the 7 rounder not suitable or carry. However, with colder weather and a large cover garment lends itself to carry with the 7 rounder. If you can cover it, go for it.

Gently used Springfield XD .45 ACP

Nice pick up. My xd's are very reliable. My xd 9mm service model (4 inch), is a great shooter and eats everything I put in it, including my lead reloads. I'm very accurate with it. Nice to have 16 +1 of good defensive ammo too. I think Springfield makes good products. I have one of their...

    New XDs for Me!

They do make an extended mag for the xds too. It is 7 rounds and gives a larger grip. Good for the range and carry if you can get away with it. Extended mag does make it harder to conceal. Several guys over on the XDTalk forum mention carrying the gun with the 5 rounder and then carrying the...

    New XDs for Me!

I love mine. It is a great size for concealed carry .45 caliber. Essentially very close is size to the LC9. Looking at the business end of a .45 is fairly intimidating. The size of that .45 hole is something. Good luck and hope you like it!

The most effective hardware for home defense

XD 9MM is my favorite for now, like the 16 + 1! I have lots of shotguns too, but want a home defense one with a shorter barrel.

    CC At Bass Pro

In Texas they have to post a valid sign 30.06. Absent that sign, I laugh at other signs that say no guns or whatever. Same thing applies to Bass Pro or Cabela's (and their signs are none compliant). I don't say anything and go about my business.

    Reloading forums

I think I followed what you said, but maybe not. You think reloading posting here is more strict than reloading post in other forums? If that is what you are trying to say then I think my answer would be yes, you are correct. And I guess when you mean other forums, you are talking about that...

    First CM9 Range Trip

Why did you shoot that guy on the right in the family jewels? ;D ;D Good report and it is always good to have a good functioning new gun!

    Ruger Range Kit

Make sure the dowel rods are oak, the soft ones don't work!

    Ruger Range Kit

Looks good. Get some oak dowel rods in various sizes and a little mallet to remove squib loads if needed. Don't ask me why I do that. :-[

    GI can opener

Most Army surplus stores will carry these too. The one I visit even has an old dog tag making machine in it and they will make you a dog tag too!

    GI can opener

I'm an Army brat and my father served 28 years in the Army with tours in Korea and Vietnam. He used to bring home c-rations on several occasions and we would eat them. I really liked the peanut butter! I eventually got a key ring when I started driving I guess around my sophomore year. Ever...

How NOT to clean your gun.

That's one way to not have another branch on the family tree, which is likely a good thing.
