Colt 6920 - New Clone Build | Colt 14.5" Socom Barrel

The clone bug is a bad one. Pretty soon you'll be paying $400 for that heavy pic rail that was all the rage in 2009 vs. "settling" for that ultra-light keymod/m-lock for $150. Cloning is all about retrogression and paying out the ass for it. Good luck!

To buy a 5.7 or not? That is the question

i'm not interested in another handgun caliber (of any type) but i've considered an sbr upper for my registered AR lower in 5.7. however, i wonder what the benefit over the same length upper in 5.56 would grant given that i own a lightweight suppressor suitable for both calibers. my...

AR Gunsmithing Tools - Must Have

i found an easier way without this specialized tool. if you have a large punch - one that will fit through the pivot pin holes on the lower - you can insert from the opposite direction that the pivot pin will ultimately point. pull it back a bit to expose the pivot pin hole. insert spring and...

AR Gunsmithing Tools - Must Have

a nylon, rubber, or brass hammer is also very useful. brass won't mar the surface of your aluminum lower if you miss. you can use a normal steel hammer but you'll have to be careful. roll pin starter punches - while not necessary - are extremely helpful.

    PSA 45acp AR parts

quite frankly, i wouldn't hunt with either. not to say that it wouldn't get the job done but a supersonic 300 blk round with an expanding bullet would be a better choice. barnes tsx and hornady vmax would seem to get the job done. any 300 barrel over 8" is going to be effective. i like a 10...

    .22lr scope zero distance

i would use the hornady ballistics calculator (free online website) and enter all the relevant data (sight above bore, muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient, bullet weight, etc.). i do this with all my centerfire calibers but have never put my specs in for 22. i just zeroed at 25 yards like...

    M16 Copy Cat Build

obviously the barrel is a deviation and probably a good one to do. i've always liked the 18" barrel for 556. i'm guessing you'll have a detachable carry handle vs a true a2 or a c7 (a1 with a deflector and a forward assist) for the rear sight? or were you thinking something more atypical?

Theis Holster's Leather Jake Belt Review

I have worn a Theis belt everyday for 5 years and it is still as strong and stout as it was the day I got it. Sure it's worn in a tad bit - but not much. In my opinion, this is the best belt hands down for carry use or just general use.

Talk me out of a PTR91...

If I recall: It was designed by German engineers at the end of the war / start of the Cold War. Since their country / factory didn't exist, they moved the design to Spain(CETMe) for production. Once West Germany was back up and running again, the design was brought back and produced by the...

Talk me out of a PTR91...

also, these things are beefy. mine was an 18" barrel and i didn't feel like carrying it around for any period of time. would definitely have preferred a 16".

Talk me out of a PTR91...

i had one of these previously and i have a couple of observations. you want the new one with the paddle mag release like the real HK91. the mag release buttton is difficult to actuate. you also want the one with the picatinny rail welded on top or you'll want to add in the cost of a good...
