Wood grips look better, and have a slip to them during recoil - but this is useful in some situations, and a detriment in others. Also conceal better because they don’t grab your shirt. What's the appeal of wood grips vs rubber grips on a revolver? Just aesthetics?
ExactlyPretty.
In my very limited experience, rubber grips sometime stick to clothing, when revolver is worn IWB, and print badly.
Wood grips, SOMETIMES, help with recoil, if gun was designed for it. Bisley frame and Freedom Arms 454 Casull come to mind. Both are designed to rotate in the hand, absorbing the recoil.
They're useful about 30% of the time that we look at them. The other 70% of the time we have to call for interpretation. But this is only when we remember to look at the plans, which is only when there’s an obvious problem that can’t be solved with a hammer and/or removing Sheetrock.
