What brand and power are you running? Really needing to upgrade mine soon, as the current ones are complete junk.

I've been running Nikon Monarch 8x42 for a while. They work great and they aren't too expensive. I think I paid right around $180 for them during a Black Friday sale from Optics Planet several years ago.

What distance have you stretched them out to?

The furthest has been about 400 yards, but I mostly use them at 250 or less. At 400 I wished I had a little bit more magnification but I was able to clearly see that it was a spike.

So I may look into something with a little longer range then!

I have a pair of Vortex 10x50 Diamondback Binos. I love them. I think they are normally around $250. The Nikons are really good too. I almost bought a set to the Prostaff 10x?? But stumbled onto my Vortex on clearance at Academy for $120 or something.

I have a pair of IOR 7x40’s and love them. They are a copy of the old Zeiss Jena binos and use glass from Schott Glaswerke GmbH in Germany. They ain’t cheap, and they’re heavy, but they’re the finest binos I’ve used. I’ve owned them for over 10 years......think they were around $1,000, maybe a bit less, back then.

I have a set of Northrop Grumman M24 7x28 binos that are decent for the money, small and lightweight, plus incorporate a ranging reticle. You can find these used for pretty cheap. I bought 3 sets off a guy for around $100 each, IIRC.

I also have an Optolyth 10x28 monocular that I use a lot while hunting. Small, lightweight, and clear. When in the field, I wear it around my neck on a lanyard, tucked down in my shirt or jacket.

If you're not spending $800+, these are a great option.

I've got a pair of Leica HF-B 3000s with the laser.. very pricey but Ive ranged stuff to 2900 easily. Stupid clear glass, and their non laser models are great for the money.

If you want something fancy, look at the Canon image stabilized models. Turn them on and you can hold steady enough to watch bullet trace, no shakes whether from you or the wind. Really cool binos.

Good to know. Since my stroke my hands are way less stable. If my money gets good enough, these may be what I need.
