Hammock........

I don't have an integral ridgeline installed in any of my hammocks. There are tutorials on YouTube to have that done. Makes bugnetting and tarping easier with that.
If not in a rush the tarp is easy to install, put it a few feet higher than your hammock, using the included ridgeline. Stake it down. Then hang your hammock underneath (duh) [I like atlas straps better than the original slap steps eno makes, because there are more hooks and options for your hammock]. Else I use climbing webbing that has a break force of 12kN (kilonewtons) which is what is pictured above.
Bugnetting... Takes patience the first couple of times you do it, because you have to have one end of your hammock up first and the it just slides over. Attaching to the hammocks carabiners. Eno is not the fastest I have seen, but tweak it out and you can have the whole thing g up in 8 mins or so. Less if raining.

Does it get cold sleeping in a hammock? Is there any way to add insulation beneath you where your sleeping back would be compressed?

@George P. Burdell I would imagine it cold get could. I have heard of people adding a base layer or sleeping mat underneath their bodies to help insulate.
I do know that a lady in my jeep club only uses a hammock and does so year round. I may see what type of input she has on this. But she is probably more manly than most of us here. Haha

Thanks! thats the only thing thats kept me from getting the whole setup with the rain fly and the mosquito net. I have a couple enos but I've never used them in the place of my tent. I just use them for chilling out and taking naps at the moment. They seem pretty comfortable
On thing I forgot to mention... Unless you have one of those bigagnes sleeping bags with integral foam rest holder, your sleeping pad will shift out from under you

I have tried ridge rest foam pads and thermarest micros. They work well until you start moving in your sleeping bag. I am almost tempted to just shove it in the bag with me.. Lol
And something not full length, like a ¾ sized should work well.

Ill check those out. I don't think my current inflatable pad would be too comfortable in one of those
By putting the pad in your bag would you lose the needed affect of the use of the pad? More or less for the heat not so much the comfort.
no. you just need some sort of insulation between you and the elements. Because the hammock compresses your sleeping bag you would need something that doesn't completely compress to provide insulation. Shouldn't matter if its inside or outside.
I use a self inflatable mat in mine and it's fine. The wind across your back will chill you to the bone, even if it's 80 out. Freezing back and sweating front when the weather's right. But, I've had it out plenty in 40 and below. Protect your back and pull the tarp in close, and they can be pretty warm on the inside.
I have a camo Eno double nest like this and it's awesome! About to buy another one for my daughter.
Get you some Atlas straps to go with it. Much better than rope.
Yeah I was at rei again this weekend and wife talked me out of it. But I am going to be out of town this week and will grab one there.
